Linear relations among 4-point functions in the high energy limit of string theory

The decoupling of zero-norm states leads to linear relations among 4-point functions in the high energy limit of string theory. Recently it was shown that the linear relations uniquely determine ratios among 4-point functions at the leading order. The purpose of this paper is to extend the validity of the same approach to the next-to-leading order and higher orders.Comment: 17 pages, references added, minor modificatio

Numerical investigation of the phase change in transpiration cooling with the VOF method

    Get PDF
Transpiration cooling with phase change is numerically investigated in the present work. As shown in Figure 1, a liquid coolant flow is injected into a porous medium from the bottom side. The porous medium receives heat from the hot gas on the top surface and heats the coolant. Thus, phase change can occur in this porous medium. The surface temperature, the heat flux received by the porous medium, the phase distribution and the flow and cooling characteristics are the most important unknowns on this topic. A Study of the Sintering Mechanism of PZT-Based Piezoceramics

The densification behavior a PZT-based composition with additions of BiFeO3 as a flux was studied. Two different PZT powders were studied with varying initial particle sizes. Results clearly showed that BiFeO3 forms a low temperature liquid that aids in the densification behavior, with 3 mole% being optimum. Fine particle sizes substantially improved the density at low temperatures, with the net result that ceramics could be densified in air without the aid of a lead source. The corresponding electromechanical properties were typical of a hard PZT formulation

Tunable Frequency Comb Generation from a Microring with a Thermal Heater

We demonstrate a novel comb tuning method for microresonator-based Kerr comb generators. Continuously tunable, low-noise, and coherent comb generation is achieved in a CMOS-compatible silicon nitride microring resonator.Comment: submitted to CLEO201
